Finnish Survival Knife with Large Fire Steel

This Finnish Survival Knife with large Fire Steel is a quality handcrafted knife, made in the Finnish part of Lapland in a traditional northern Scandinavian way. It comes with a handy firesteel which is stored in an integrated pocket on the sheath. This will ensure that wherever the knife is, you can create fire, even at an amazing 30 degrees below freezing! The blade is 105mm long, is razor Sharp and is made from high Quality Carbon Steel hardened to HRC 63-65 and tempered to HRC 59 to balance ductility and brittleness. The blade extends with an internal tang firmly secured to the top of the handle with a nice looking rivet . The Survival Knife has a specially designed sharp notch towards the top of the blade which is used to scratch against the firesteel to create sparks that will ignite tinder, paper or small shavings of wood or bark. The handle is made from a beautiful combination of Curly Birch, thin layers of Leather and Reindeer Antler. The sheath is made from textured wet-formed vegetable tanned leather - It has an additional pocket to accommodate the firesteel and is attached to a reindeer leather belt hanger. The firesteel will last for an amazing several thousand strikes. It extends about 60mm from the end of its curly birch and reindeer antler handle and has a small leather string looped through a hole in the handle.
