Reason for the imromptu attempt at German is that I have arrived at the IWA – a trade show in Nuremberg full of new knives, new guns and great company... I do love my job! We always strive to bring our customers the best new products FIRST, so hence our 'shopping trip' this weekend. So, I thought I would share my discoveries and news from the IWA show with you. Here's what happened on day one with exclusive new product info included (Competitors – wish you were here?!)
We had an early 4am start but arrived at Nuremberg at 11am and headed straight to the IWA. We are here for three days and you wouldn’t believe the size of the place so three days is crucial to get around it all!
We stopped first at Condor where products were in abundance. It was great to catch up with Rik again. The first two items to be selected for the shop were a nice new parang and lovely little back pack axe, shown below; we will have them in stock soon so watch this space!
The Daystate stand was as popular as ever; so too was Weiharch. They have a new WH97 with a very funky laminated stock – might stand out on the field though; but I guess if your'e going to stand out best done in style!
I always did love those Dirty Harry movies; so a visit to the Smith & Wesson stand was ;love at first sight. The classic .44 cal magnums shone on the stands. And don’t you just love a .50 cal sniper rifle... every one seems to have one these days.
A great new product and concept this year are the Helle knife making kits with loads of knife blades to choose from, perfectly combining the ability to make your own with a quality trusted blade. The choice was unbelievable!
Back to the hotel for about 6.30 a very quick s,s,s then of to the pub for well earned pint, will be an early night – am absolutely, but very happilly shattered. Roll on day two!
