Another hard day in gun heaven... I know it's a tough job but some one has to do it!
An early start was essential as we had lots of ground to cover. First stop was at the Chiappa Firearms stand to take a peak at the new classic US army M1 Carbine .22LR. - a real classic which has been perfectly reproduced for the modern hunter; this is a great looking gun. Light weight and easy to use. It's not yet available in the UK but the guys from Chiappa said they are hoping to solve that very soon , lets hope so as I want one!!
You can't have a gun show without some bling so check out this .50 cal gold plated desert eagle and lets not forget the ladies with this lovely pink M4. We just had to make a stop at the Arsenal firearms stand the check out the new .45 semi auto Twin double barreled semi auto pistol, you can never have enough fire power but this is just bonkers!
Onto the Crossman stand where Neil fell in love with their latest offering; the Rogue .357 pre charge air rifle. Yes you did read it right; a .357 cal air rifle. Crossman assure us that this cheeky little number will take down a wild hog at 200 metres – would love to see it in action.
We dropped by the Cybergun stand to catch up with Luke from SMK and ended up having some great fun on their new interactive airsoft shooting range. This system takes airsoft to the next level and looks like we are going to get one of theses babies put in at Ronnie towers!
As the song goes; I've saved the best until last. The big buzz around the show is all about the new Umarex Walther LGV air rifle. Umarex are claiming to have re-invented the wheel with this fabulous range of new guns so we had to have a look. They have developed a rotary piston system that basically makes the new rifles very very quiet and very very smooth. Allan from Armex (the UK distributor) gave us the opportunity to try out this new technology for ourselves and I have to say we we very impressed... So we impressed that we placed an order on the spot and will be one of the first gun shops in the UK to stock them! We hope to have them in stock later this year so time to start saving your pocket money.
You cannot begin to imagine how many stalls there are here – we have three days to get around it all and ideally you would need an extra day. So as much as I would love to show you it all I'd spend all my time typing so hope my highlights are sufficient!
Signing off for today
