The village of Karesuando is the northernmost locality in Sweden. It's situated some 250km into the Arctic Circle, it's also the home of karesuandokniven. The tools they craft are adapted to their environment of the barren arctic climate, Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun. They create genuine products that are shaped by centuries of handicraft traditions and by the natural raw materials available. Since 1975 they have manufactured over 200,000 knifes and over 1 million blades.
The Karesuando small hatchet is a thing of beauty and made to an incredibly high standard. It almost looks too good to use! However when you do it performs like a dream weather your splitting kindling, felling small trees or carving.
The handle is curly birch with a reindeer antler end cap with engraved antler and Moose bone inlays. The head is highly polished stainless steel.
Supplied in a gift box with a black leather sheath with belt loop that will accommodate belts of up to 5cm and a diamond axe file for sharpening.
