Kral (King in English) are a large scale, small arms manufacturer, from Turkey. They are renown for semi-automatic shotguns for the defence industry but over the last 25 years they have brought their skills and experience to the airgun market, with great results.
The NP range are members of the Kral Puncher family which has established itself as a very well priced range of air rifles, that simply work very well. The reputation of Turkish air rifles is growing in very much the same manner as the reputation for Turkish semi-auto, sporting shotguns did, and they now dominate their sector of the market.
The NP02 has evolved from a PCP action that was originally developed as a pistol, hence it's short barrel, pistol grip and the fact that it's cocking lever is on the left hand side. The addition of the massive 420cc rear bottle which cleverly doubles as a stock thanks to the tough ABS cover, takes the air capacity to 530cc, enough for over 200 shots in .22 or 170 in .177. There is an adjustable butt pad fitted to the stock cover that makes it easy to get comfortable and in the correct position to get the most from the NP02.
The Walnut stock and the short barrel give the NP-02 a bull pup look and feel, and with an overall length of just 765mm and a weight of just under 3kg it is so easy to bring to target at speed, it makes for a great field gun.
Other features include a 12 (.22) or 14 (.177) shot magazine capacity, a barrel screw cut to ½'' UNF to allow silencer fitting, a weaver/picatinny scope rail, integral pressure gauge, a manual safety catch and an adjustable trigger.
The overall verdict is that for more than a decent price you get a very reliable, side lever actioned rifle, with a massive shot count, that groups really well ....and with the added bonus of 2 mags and a hard case included in the deal!
